PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Professional development is provided by the ABS CensusAtSchool team. All sessions are developed and delivered by qualified teachers employed by the ABS as part of the CensusAtSchool team. Each session has been designed to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to confidently use CensusAtSchool in their classroom. Standard Professional Development sessions run for 2 hours, however you can request a shorter 1 1/2 hour session that will cover same content as the standard session, except there will not be as much time available to tutor people in using Excel. All sessions are provided FREE of charge by members of the CensusAtSchool team.
 Professional Development Session Types and Availability
There are 5 different types of professional development sessions offered throughout 2008, ranging from general use of the data at the primary level to specific subject areas in secondary years. View the Professional Development Session Types.
The CensusAtSchool team will be offering professional development sessions in each State and Territory throughout 2008. For more information on session times and dates in your State or Territory, view the Professional Development Timetable.
 Request Professional Development At Your School
If your state/territory does not have a session scheduled or the scheduled sessions times do not suit you, we can conduct a Professional Development session at your school at a time that is convenient.
To host a Professional Development session, your school must fulfil the following requirements:
- Access to adequate IT facilities
- Access to Internet
- A minimum of 10 participants
If your school would like to host a session but cannot meet the required number of participants, the CensusAtSchool team can invite nearby schools to attend the session.
