Queensland Statistics

Most ABS publications include information at a state and territory level, and can be accessed through the Statistics page. Look for state and territory level data by clicking on the download tab in each publication.

Land Management Practices in the Great Barrier Reef Catchments, Preliminary (cat. no. 4619.0) Reports on land management practices adopted by farmers in the Great Barrier Reef catchments.
Baby Boomers in Queensland: A Profile of Persons Born 1946-1965, 2005 (cat. no. 4149.3) Presents a range of information on Queensland's Baby Boomers.

Qld Stats (cat. no. 1318.3) Monthly overview of the state's key social and economic indicators including feature articles plus news and upcoming events (2005-2011)
Queensland in Review (cat. no. 1387.3) Data and articles presented on a wide range of Queensland regions over a range of time periods
Brisbane: A Social Atlas (cat. no. 2030.3) Presents colour maps and brief commentary that highlights social, demographic and housing characteristics of the population in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Released 5-yearly, based on Census data (1996-2006).

State Supplementary Surveys

State Supplementary Surveys focus on issues of particular interest for states and territories (1990-2010). Note: not all states and territories run regular supplementary surveys.

Help finding state, regional and local data in ABS publications

The Locating Regional and Local Data on the ABS website page provides help with finding statistics for areas that are smaller than state or territory, including a list of ABS publications containing regional data.

Historical Statistics

Historical Statistics

Queensland Year Book (cat. no. 1301.3) portrays the state's physical geography, history, institutions and social and economic conditions (1901 to 2001).

All ABS publications since 1994 are available in full-text on the ABS website. The ABS is digitising a range of older publications on an ongoing basis: The Historical Census and Colonial Data Archive (HCCDA) Australian Colonial census publications and reports (non-ABS site).

The National Library provides links to Australian family history and genealogy websites, including state and territory libraries which are a good source for copies of older ABS publications and family history information (non-ABS site).
