Migrants and their descendants have played a significant role in Australia's history and in shaping the nation we live in today. They continue to play important roles in terms of population and workforce growth, and in contributing to our culture and society in many ways.
Since its establishment in 2006, the National Migrant Statistics Unit (NMSU) has been involved in a number of roles, including the provision of statistical leadership and coordination in migrant and ethnicity statistics, the advancement of migrant and ethnicity issues within the ABS and the facilitation of client requests for data on migrants and ethnicity.
