DID YOU KNOW that the service industries sector employed 7,327,500 people (or 75 per cent of all employment) in 2004-05, and that the largest employing service industry was retail trade, accounting for 20% of total services employment. In addition, in 2003-04 the service industries’ share of the total production of goods and services in the Australian economy (gross domestic product) was 56%.
