AVAILABILITY
The ABS conducts a number of national surveys related to education and training as well as collating administrative data about schooling in Australia. Education and Training Releases provide a more extensive summary of selected ABS datasets and outputs that are likely to be of general interest to researchers. In most instances, more detailed unpublished data may also be available on request.
The Directory of Statistical Sources includes reference material about each ABS statistical collection, such as its purpose, scope and coverage, and summary information about the various data items. It also provides access to current data outputs.
A Directory of Education and Training Statistics (cat. no. 1136.0) is a guide to the range of national statistical resources available, relating to education and training activity in Australia. It includes ABS statistical collections which have an education and training focus or contain data relevant to education and training. It also includes national statistical collections and various publications or statistical series from non-ABS sources, that analysts may find useful.
The National Statistical Service (NSS), is an initiative which supports a whole of government approach to the management of statistical information as well as non-ABS collections.
