8412.0Mineral and Petroleum Exploration, AustraliaQuarterlyActual and expected expenditure by private organisations exploring for minerals and petroleum. Mineral exploration expenditure is classified by state and commodity, and data are provided on metres drilled. Petroleum exploration expenditure is classified by onshore/offshore, and from the September quarter 1994, by region.

8155.0 Australian IndustryAnnuallyPresents estimates derived using a combination of data from the Economic Activity Survey and business tax data sourced from the Australian Tax Office. For most industry divisions and subdivisions (as specified in the Australian and New Zealand Industrial Classification (ANZSIC), 2006 edition), estimates at a national level are presented for: income; expenses; industry value added; operating profit before tax; capital expenditure; and selected components of these aggregates and derivations. State/territory estimates of income, employment, and wages and salaries, at the division level are also included.

8415.0Mining Operations, AustraliaAnnuallyPresented data on mining operations in Australia for the following: employment at 30 June; wages and salaries; sales and service income; as well as selected components of and totals for income and expenditure; trading profit; operating profit before tax; industry value added; assets and liabilities; and net capital expenditure. Employment, wages and salaries, sales and service income and industry value added data for total mining by state and territory were included. Also included value and quantity data for mineral, oil and gas production by state and territory, obtained from the various state and territory departments responsible for collecting this information.

The last edition, covering the 2006-07 reference period was released on 22 July 2008. Annual mining data are now available in Australian Industry, (cat. no. 8155.0).

8417.0Mining Indicators, AustraliaQuarterlyMining Indicators presented key performance indicators of the Australian mining industry, including income from sales, inventories, employment, exploration expenditure, lost time injuries and overseas mineral exploration expenditure. The product contained three tables; one table highlighting quarterly indicators, the other two annual indicators (split into financial and calendar years). These indicators were sourced from ABS and non-ABS data.

8418.0Mining Statistics NewsletterBianuallyAn electronic newsletter that reported on ABS statistics covering Australian mining industry developments, summaries of the results of recent releases and advise on future releases.
