The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey commenced across the country in May 2012. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is doing this survey to collect information about the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples all over Australia. Information from the survey will be used by doctors, nurses, health researchers and governments to find better ways to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples live longer, healthier lives.
