The information you provide using ABS Survey Account is kept secure through the use of the strongest industry standard encryption technology that your web browser will support, and at no time will identifiable data be disclosed unless:
- you have consented;
- you would reasonably expect, or have been told, that we usually disclose information of this kind; or
- the disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
You may know this process as ABS Online Survey. The ABS is transitioning to an account based method to complete surveys. During the transition period you may still be asked to use a User/Unit Identifier and Password supplied to you by the ABS.

The ABS website is accredited and maintained to Commonwealth Government internet security standards to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of information you provide to the ABS via ABS Survey Account or ABS Online Survey. These standards meet or exceed the Australian Information Security Standard (AS/NZS 4444).
