The information you provide using ABS Online Survey is kept secure through the use of the strongest industry standard encryption technology that your web browser will support, and at no time will identifiable data be released by us.

To ensure that your information is delivered to us securely, we have used Transport Layer Security/Secure Socket Layer (TLS/SSL) technology with 128-bit encryption. Your ABS Survey Account is the key to your information. To protect your information from unauthorised access, please ensure you keep your user identifier and password secure. The Survey Account’s strong password requirements and security questions have all been implemented to ensure the process of completing your survey online is as secure as possible.

While we are in a period of transition, you may have had a User/Unit Identifier and Password supplied to you by the ABS. To protect your information from unauthorised access by a third party, please ensure you keep these credentials safe.

The ABS website is accredited and maintained to Commonwealth Government internet security standards to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of information you provide to the ABS via ABS Online Survey. These standards meet or exceed the Australian Information Security Standard (AS/NZS 4444).

We have endeavoured to make ABS Online Survey as secure as possible. Before using ABS Online Survey it is important to consider the security of your own computer; for further information about increasing your safety online please see Online Security.
