Celebrating the International Year of Statistics 2013

On 31 March 2011, the Australian Bureau of Statistics released the Discussion Paper: Methodological Review of Counting the Homeless, 2006 (cat. no. 2050.55.001).
The ABS is holding discussion forums in each state and territory capital city to provide an opportunity for readers to discuss the findings in the review, and to input into final ABS decisions on a methodology to produce official estimates, using a consistent, transparent and repeatable process, of the number of people enumerated in the Census who may be homeless.

The dates and times for each city consultation are shown in the schedule below.

To register your interest to attend one of the consultation sessions, email your details and the city at which you would like to attend to <living.conditions@abs.gov.au>. You will be emailed with confirmation of the venue and the time of discussion forum.

Written comments on the review can also be provided. Comments received up until 30 June 2011 will be taken into account in ABS final methodological decisions, which will be published by end July 2011. Written comments should be addressed to:
