1. DATA ANALYSTS STREAM

Many of our graduate roles will be in our Statistical Services Group, which compiles and analyses a wide range of statistics. Explore the range of ABS statistics.

2. METHODOLOGY STREAM

Our Methodology Division provides expertise in statistical methodology to support the statistical production process such as: survey design, sampling and estimation methods, data linking, analysis and safe data access methods, statistical risk management and quality control.

Our Methodology stream is for graduates who want to apply their methodological skills in an agency well world renowned for its statistical methods and application.

Areas of study

Suitable degrees for the Methodology stream include Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics or related fields (often at the Honours level).


3. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) STREAM

Our Technology Services Division provides services to develop applications and support/ manage the statistical and corporate technology needs of the ABS, including the ABS Statistical Business Transformation Program.

Our ICT stream is for graduates who are passionate about applying and broadening their ICT skills in an agency undergoing major transformation.

Suitable degrees for the ICT stream include: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information and Communications Technology, Infrastructure Design and Support, Project Management, Web Design and Development, Business Analysis or Informatics.


4. DATA ACQUISITION (GEELONG) STREAM

The National Data Acquisition Centre (NDAC) in our Geelong office manages ABS survey contact and collection activities for business, household and administrative data collections. The NDAC is also responsible for developing future ABS survey instruments, processes and data provider management strategies.
