Task One:

The following charts show the foot lengths of boys or girls in years 6 and 9. Draw a line to match each histogram with its box and whisker plot.



Task Two:

Show with a tick whether each statistical characteristic is indicated in the display.

What difference would it make if the histogram used grouped data?


Task Three:

Label the box and whisker plots below with year level and sex. For some hints you will need to refer to data in the histograms.

Hints
: The modal foot length for year 9 boys is 25cm.
More year 9 girls were in the lower range than higher range (positive skew).
Year 6 girls did not have the smallest range.



Write a short description of how foot length changes from Year 6 to Year 9.
