Overview
This activity has been designed for students to demonstrate their ability to read, interpret and assimilate information presented in graphs and tables. The four representations show different aspects of one student’s typical Saturday and the task involves students writing a story that blends together the important details in an interesting and realistic way. They can choose to write as a diary or in narrative form.

Graph set A is suitable for Year 3 and below; graph set B is suitable for Year 4; graph set C is for Year 6; and graph set D is designed for use by Year 7 students.
Extension
Students can develop their own time series graph or use a CensusAtSchool sample to make their own graphs. See the Teacher Notes attachment below.
