Education and training statistics provide measures of the levels and outcomes of education and training activity. They are seen as key indicators of the well-being of society. The information is used by governments for purposes such as planning, budgeting, policy design, and program evaluation. The data are also used by providers of education and training, researchers, and community organisations.
The ABS produces statistics covering a range of education and training topics, including school education, non-school activity, adult literacy, and pathways linking education and work. This theme page provides a guide to both ABS and non-ABS data, with statistics and information available on aspects of education and training activity. Links to further sources of information are included. Many of these links will take you to the Main Features or Media Releases of ABS publications which you can view on-line, or follow further links to purchase additional information. |
