ABS goes Android

You spoke, we listened! In response to a widespread demand to cater for Android users, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released a free Android version of its “ABS Stats” iOS mobile application.

In collaboration with an external agency, Mnet Mobile, the ABS has developed a streamlined and accessible application with new features that will enhance the user experience.

“The Android app embraces a new, user-friendly design, making it easy and convenient for users to engage with our statistics on the go,” said Michael Beahan, the ABS' Program Manager of Dissemination.

The application provides all the best features from the iOS application, including an automatically updated Population Clock, all the latest Key Economic Indicators and 2011 Census data by Postcode and Commonwealth Electoral Division.

"We have listened to the public's feedback and added some of the most sought after functionality, including the ability to compare data from different regions and notifications for your Key Indicators straight to your phone," said Mr Beahan.

The ABS Stats Android app is available for download from the Google Play Store for free.
