OVERVIEW
State Supplementary Survey requested by the Government Statistician's Office on behalf of the Department of Housing and Local Government (Policy, Planning and Research Division) and approved by the ABS Population Surveys Planning Committee.

PURPOSE
Provide input to policy formulation and planning for more efficient types of dwelling and for provision of infrastructure by the Queensland Department of Housing and Local Government.

SCOPE
Persons living in Queensland in private dwellings.
Other Monthly Population Survey scope and coverage rules apply.

Conceptual framework
Household information obtained from the head of the household or the spouse.

The principal data items are:

Type of dwelling;
Present dwelling

• tenure, rent/mortgage paid, length of occupancy
• main advantages of location and dwelling;

• location, tenure, main reason for moving, type of dwelling;

• main reason, proposed location, dwelling type;

Main outputs
Households: Selected characteristics by current dwelling type
Households: paying rent/mortgage: Weekly rent/mortgage by current dwelling type
Households: Main reason for moving from previous dwelling by previous dwelling type
Households: Main advantage of living in current dwelling by current dwelling type
Households: Main advantage of living in current dwelling by household type
Households: Current region by main advantage of living in current region
Households: Current region by likely to move in the next 2 years
Households likely to move in the next 2 years: Main reason for moving by current dwg type
