    OVERVIEW

Periodic surveys of selected service industries are undertaken in response to specifically identified user needs for data that support in-depth studies of individual service industries and/or activities for use in micro-economic analysis and policy formulation.


    PURPOSE
The Film and Video Production and Post Production Survey is an adhoc survey which collects financial, employment and production activity information about businesses that generate income predominantly from Film and Video Production, the provision of Post Production Services, and other film and video activities. The Film and Video production survey is usually conducted in conjunction with the Television services survey. The main focus of the survey is to collect and publish estimates of the composition of the income generated by these businesses, details of expenses incurred and the characteristics of film and video production and post-production services.


    SCOPE
The survey's scope includes businesses that generate income predominantly from Film and Video Production, the provision of Post Production Services, and other film and video activities. These businesses are classified according to Class 5511 (Motion Picture and Video Production) and Class 5514 (Post-production Services and Other Motion Picture and Video Activities) of the 2006 edition of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC), which cover the following activities:
