DECEMBER KEY POINTS

Livestock and meat production monthly trend movements for December 2015:
  • Cattle slaughter numbers fell in December 2015 and was the thirteenth consecutive fall reported after reaching record highs in late 2014. Despite these falls cattle slaughter numbers remain at relatively high levels
  • Lamb slaughtering steadied but remain at the near-record highs recorded in April 2015
  • Pig slaughter and production remained steady.
