WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In July 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export fell to 4.4 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 3.6 million tonnes was contracted for export while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell to 781 thousand tonnes.

In July 2010, most states reported decreased export commitments from June 2010, with only South Australia (up by 116 thousand tonnes) showing an increase.

Compared to July 2009, wheat grain committed for export increased by 67%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use increased by 13% in July 2010.
