For the estimated 652,200 visitors who arrived by scheduled airline flights and Bass Strait ferries in 2002-03, the more popular towns and cities visited included Hobart City (511,900 or 78.5% of all visitors), Launceston City (373,600 or 57.3%) and Devonport (271,800 or 41.7%).
