In the June quarter 2010, the number of cattle (excluding calves) slaughtered increased 1% to 1.9 million compared to the previous quarter.

The number of calves slaughtered in the June quarter 2010 increased 3% to 208 thousand compared to the previous quarter.


SHEEP AND LAMBS

The number of sheep slaughtered in the June quarter 2010 fell 17% to 1.6 million compared to the previous quarter. Lamb slaughterings remained steady at 4.8 million.


PIGS
