I-Note - Upcoming Releases

From September 2012 onwards, changes to the methodology for compiling exports data in Livestock Products, Australia (cat. no. 7215.0) will be implemented. The changes are as a result of a shift from using AHECC (Australian Harmonised Export Commodity Classification) codes to SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) codes. The methodological change to using SITC codes is aimed at providing a more stable basis for data comparability over time. SITC is the ABS preferred classification for published trade statistics, due to less variability in code definitions.

In Livestock Products, Australia (cat. no. 7215.0), changes to exports data will occur in the following tables:

• Time series Spreadsheet 5 - "Exports of Fresh, Chilled, Frozen and Processed Meat: Original (tonnes)";
• Time series Spreadsheet 6 - "Exports of Live Sheep and Cattle: Original";
• Additional Publication Table 3 - "Exports of Fresh, Chilled, Frozen and Processed Meat, Australia: Original"; and
• Additional Publication Table 4 - "Exports of Live Sheep and Cattle, Australia: Original".
