LIFE EXPECTANCY AT BIRTH


Over the past 10 years, life expectancy at birth has improved by 2.2 years for males and 1.4 years for females. Based on current mortality rates, a boy born in 2012-2014 can expect to live 80.3 years, while a girl can expect to live 84.4 years (see graph 1.6).
