MESSAGE FROM THE NSW ACTING REGIONAL DIRECTOR – Geoff Smith

NSW Acting Regional Director – Geoff Smith

Welcome to the December edition of Statistics News NSW.

A major highlight for this edition is the 2007 update of Regional Statistics NSW(cat. no. 1368.1), which is expected to be released 18 December. This popular publication presents data spreadsheets for all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and other selected regions in NSW on a broad range of topics: Population, Family and Community, Health, Education, Work, Economic Resources, Crime and Justice, Transport and Economic Activity. Another recently released publication Statistical Trends, NSW, 2007 (cat. no. 1338.1.55.001) provides a brief data analysis on a broad range of economic, social and environmental issues.

I would also like to draw your attention to the following new resources:
  • Migrant Data Matrices (cat. no. 3415.0) a useful new resource for searching and accessing ABS migrant and ethnicity data
