Dataset name and ABS resource name
The dataset name is the Custom dataset name specified by the user. If the name is "Untitled" then it has not been previously saved. If an asterisk (*) appears before the name then changes have been made since the last save. The ABS Data Resource is the original ABS dataset from which the Custom dataset was created.
Save Custom Dataset
To save changes (such as Data Manipulations) to the active dataset, simply click the "Save" button. This will overwrite the previous version of the saved dataset.
Save As Custom Dataset
The "Save As" button can be used either to save a dataset for the first time or to save over a pre-existing dataset that is not currently the active dataset. To save a modified dataset for the first time, click the "Save As" button and provide a dataset name of your choice. To overwrite an existing dataset that is not the currently Active dataset, click the "Save As" button and provide the name of the existing dataset.
Please note the following when choosing a dataset name:
- The first character must be a letter of the alphabet. Upper or lower case is fine.
- Characters other than the first may be alpha-numeric
- Spaces are not permitted, however the underscore character ("_") can be used to separate words
- Dots (".") or slashes ("/","\") are not permitted
- Dataset names are case sensitive so that datasets with names "Health_Data", "Health_data" and "health_data" will be treated as different datasets.
A warning message is given if any illegal characters are used in a dataset name.
The Action History provides a summary of any dataset manipulations, exploratory data analyses and regressions that have been performed on the active dataset. To see the details of an action that was performed, left click on the "Parameters" column for the action and a pop-up will be displayed. Hovering over an action in the manage loaded dataset panel will give brief instructions of the action.
Actions are either locked or unlocked indicated by the respectively red and green squares below. Unlocked actions are those that have been performed since the last save and can be undone via the Rerun Actions page, which can be accessed by clicking on the "Rerun" button. When the active dataset is saved, all actions will be locked.
