      Description
        Provides information on the distribution of employees according to weekly earnings and hours. Survey results are used by Commonwealth and State government departments, employer associations, and trade unions in developing and reviewing wages and labour market policies and in the wage negotiating process.
      Data detail
        Information is provided on the composition of weekly earnings and hours for various categories of employees, industry and principal occupations. Average weekly total earnings are also classified by sex, private/public sector and State or Territory. For various categories of employees, the average weekly total earnings are dissected into the following:
      • sex
      • private and public sector
      • base rate
      • over-award/agreement pay
      • overtime pay
      • payment by measured result (e.g. piecework)
