INJURIES

The 2004-05 National Health Survey indicates that in the 4 weeks prior to interview, 17.1% of Tasmanians suffered an injury. The most common injury was being cut with a knife (4.4% of Tasmanians).

WORK RELATED INJURIES

In 2005-06 there were 10,018 work-related injuries reported to the WorkCover Tasmania Board. Of these, 68% (6,847) occurred to men, and 32% (3,171) occurred to women.
