In 2006-07, South Australia produced 91,000 tonnes of onions which was more than any other state. Sixty-nine percent of all onions produced in South Australia came from the Murray Lands Statistical Division (63,000 tonnes).

South Australia is also a major producer of potatoes. In 2006-07, South Australia produced 364,000 tonnes of potatoes. Over 85% of all potatoes produced in South Australia came from the Murray Lands and South East Statistical Divisions (314,000 tonnes).
