WHAT DOES RATE TELL YOU?

Rate allows you to compare and define the relationship of two variables which both have its own unit of measurement. For example, when you’re buying fruit, the rate used is 'kilos per dollar'.

Other common examples of rate include: cents per litre (price of fuel); pounds per square inch (tyre pressure); and kilometres per hour (speed).
