This group covers R&D directed towards improving energy distribution including electricity and gas transmission and distribution.
It includes:

  • energy storage;
  • energy systems analysis;
  • transmission and distribution of energy and energy products through cabling and pipelines;
  • supply of energy and energy products to commerce, industry and households.
This group has seven objectives:
    850601 Energy Services and Utilities
    850602 Energy Storage (excl. Hydrogen)
    850603 Energy Systems Analysis
    850604 Energy Transmission and Distribution (excl. Hydrogen)
    850605 Hydrogen Distribution
    850606 Hydrogen Storage
    850699 Energy Storage, Distribution and Supply not elsewhere classified

    Exclusions:
    a) Distribution of non-energy products, other than water, through pipelines is included in Group 8899 Other Transport.
    b) Distribution of water is included in Group 9004 Water and Waste Services.
