DESCRIPTION

This survey provides information on the career experience of wage and salary earners. It provides details of current job, changes in job such as promotions and transfers, and training opportunities. Other information collected includes educational attainment, status of job, income, breaks away from work for six months or more, and reasons for the break, including family reasons. Estimates can be cross-classified by standard demographic characteristics such as age, sex, marital status, relationship in household and birthplace. Family related data include: family type, number of dependent children, type of leave taken when the youngest child was born, and child care arrangements.

Career experience data can be used to gain insights into career opportunities, and issues such as employees with family responsibilities, workplace flexibility and barriers to career development.
