Purpose

To provide an annual summary and estimates of industry performance in electricity, gas and water supply.

Description

The statistics produced in the publication are sourced from the Economic Activity Survey (EAS) and relate to business in the public trading and private employing sectors of the Australian economy including the energy sector.

Method of collection

Information is provided freely by individuals, businesses, governments and other organisations. The EAS results are from details of profit and loss statements and balance sheets collected from selected businesses mainly by mail-out questionnaires.
