DESCRIPTION

This publication presents projections of the number and types of households, families and living arrangements for the Australian population from 1996 to 2021. The publication also describes the methods and assumptions used to produce these projections.

Information from this publication is used to support social policy and planning, and in particular to forecast future housing needs. Projections are available by State and Capital City/balance of State.
