From 30 June 2004 to 30 June 2005, sales and service income per person employed in manufacturing in Tasmania increased by $25,700 (9.6%), from $267,700 to $293,400. This followed a decline of 4.7% from 30 June 2003 to 30 June 2004.

The industry subdivision to record the most sales and service income per person employed in 2004-05 was the Petroleum, coal, chemical and associated product manufacturing subdivision ($494,000), followed closely by Metal product manufacturing ($480,500).

The largest increase over the two years from 2002-03 to 2004-05 was in the Metal product manufacturing subdivision, with an increase of $112,600 (30.6%) from $367,900 to $480,500.
