Of people born in Australia, victims were twice as likely to have a disability due to a mental health condition as people who were not victims (12.2% compared to 5.5%). There was no statistically significant difference between the proportion of victims and non-victims with a disability due to a mental health condition who were born overseas (8.6% and 5.4% respectively). Furthermore, there was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of disability due to a mental health condition between victims born in Australia (12.2%) and victims born overseas (8.6%), which was reflective of the trend in the general population.
