2001 Census of Population and Housing - SEIFA 2001

SEIFA 2001 is a powerful analytical tool that enables you to investigate the socio-economic wellbeing of Australian communities and identify areas of advantage and disadvantage. Based on data from the 2001 Census, SEIFA 2001 consists of four separate indexes that each concentrate on a different aspect of the social and economic conditions in an area.

SEIFA has a number of applications, including research into the relationship between socio-economic status and various health and educational outcomes, determining areas that require funding and services, and identifying new business opportunities.
