Of the estimated 652,200 visitors who arrived by scheduled airline flights and Bass Strait ferries in 2002-03, approximately 383,100 (58.7%) visited the Hobart Waterfront/Sullivans Cove location. Some 233,400 (35.8%) visited the Port Arthur Historic Site, 179,400 (27.5%) visited the Cataract Gorge and 170,800 (26.2%) visited Mount Wellington.

Other major drawcards included Cadbury Chocolate Factory (122,100 or 18.7%), the Tahune Forest Airwalk (115,300 or 17.7%) and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (109,600 or 16.8%).
