ABOUT THIS RELEASE

This brochure is an abstract from the history publication: Informing a Nation: the Evolution of the Australian Bureau of Statistics. It provides, in brief, a 100 year history of the Australian Bureau of Statistics from the passing of the Census and Statistics Act in 1905 and subsequent establishment of the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics through to the Australian Bureau of Statistics at the beginning of the 21st century.
