  • About this Release

Describes the indexes for summarising the socio-economic profile of population by areas and illustrates their possible uses. Indexes are derived from the 1991 Census to rank postcodes, local government areas, statistical local areas and collection districts by summarising a wide range of socio-economic characteristics. Examples of variables used are income, education, occupation and housing conditions.
