Your social atlas of Darwin

At 11.30 am tomorrow, Wednesday, November 12, the publication Darwin - a Social Atlas will be launched at the Reception Area, 1st floor of the Civic Centre, Harry Chan Avenue, Darwin.

Darwin - a Social Atlas draws on data collected during the 1996 Census to present social, demographic and economic characteristics of Darwin and Palmerston in a geographical context.

The colour maps in the atlas are easy to interpret as the distribution of the data is represented by different colours or shadings. A brief commentary explaining the main features and characteristics also accompanies each map.

Present at the launch will be:

Mr Dan Black, Acting Regional Director, Northern Territory, of the Australian Bureau of Statistics,
Acting Lord Mayor of Darwin, Mr Pat Burke
Mayor of Palmerston, Mr Kevin Diflo

As the launch of the publication will take place at 11.30 am, your attendence by 11.15 am is recommended.
