SOCIAL ATLASES TO BE LAUNCHED IN JUST UNDER ONE WEEK

The 2006 Census Social Atlas series will be launched in just under one week at Parliament House in Canberra, on Monday 17 March 2008.

The Social Atlas' use of easy to read thematic maps of capital cities, featuring new analysis of 2006 Census data, makes data easier to interpret and provides the groundwork for a wide variety of stories on current and emerging issues. A wide range of topics are covered relating to:

  • Population
  • Cultural diversity
  • Work
  • Housing
  • Families
  • Education and training
  • Economic resources

Please Note: Coverage of the Atlases has been expanded, and for the first time, includes maps for some major regional centres in addition to capital cities:
