ABS to release environmental snapshot on Thursday

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will release Australia's Environment: Issues and Trends (cat. no. 4613.0) on Thursday July 31, 2003.

This publication contains the latest collection of environmental information from the ABS and other sources, and is presented in a format that is easy to read and understand.

Australia's Environment: Issues and Trends includes sections on:
  • The Decade of Landcare;
  • Genetically Modified Organisms;
  • Mining and the Environment;
  • Wastes and Waste Management; and
  • Forests.

A media release, including state-based data, will be widely distributed at 11.30am (AEST) on July 31.

The publication will be boxed at the Canberra Press Gallery.
