Purpose
To provide data on the characteristics of small businesses and operators.
Description
This survey provides a snapshot of the characteristics of small businesses in Australia. The 1997 survey defined small businesses as those with fewer than 20 employees, excluding agriculture businesses. The survey was run as a supplementary survey in conjunction with the 1997 Labour Force Survey.It was repeated in November 1999 with results expected in April 2000.
Data are collected by personal interview.
