This product provides maps and concordance files for Tourism regions for each state and the Northern Territory.

Tourism regions are defined by the relevant state/territory tourism organisations and represent groups of Statistical Local Areas (SLAs). SLAs are a small spatial unit of the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC). The ASGC is updated each year. The concordance files provide Tourism region names and their corresponding SLA names and codes.

This product provides maps and concordances corresponding to the 2005 edition of the ASGC. Any changes to Tourism regions are applied to products issued from the March quarter reference period in the following year. For example, the 2005 maps and concordances apply to the March, June, September and December quarter 2006 issues of Survey of Tourist Accommodation releases.

There were no major changes to Tourism regions between 2004 and 2005, with only minor changes involving boundary, code, name or area changes to SLAs.
