TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for March 2007 (487,000 movements) increased by 0.8% compared with February 2007 (482,900 movements). This follows monthly increases of 1.0% for both January 2007 and February 2007.


Currently, short-term visitor arrivals are 5.7% higher than in March 2006.



SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for March 2007 (505,000 movements) increased by 8.1% compared with February 2007 (467,200 movements). This followed monthly decreases of 0.6% for January 2007 and 2.6% for February 2007.
