TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for October 2007 (471,800 movements) increased by 0.2% compared with September 2007 (470,800 movements). This followed no monthly percentage change for both August 2007 and September 2007.


Currently, short-term visitor arrivals are 1.4% higher than in October 2006.



SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for October 2007 (469,900 movements) decreased by 1.2% compared with September 2007 (475,600 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 3.7% for August 2007 and a monthly decrease of 0.1% for September 2007.
