ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION

This publication contains estimates of the quantity of grain held in grain storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies and grain traders in Australia as at 30 November 2007.

KEY POINTS

As the harvest of winter grain continues, the quantity of grain held in storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies at 30 November 2007 was 9.8 million tonnes. The current level is 35% below the stocks of grain held in November 2006 with the difference largely attributed to wheat (which is about half of that held by the major grain handling companies in November 2006). Stocks of barley are almost on par with those held last November.
