NOVEMBER KEY POINTS


ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
  • In original terms, the November 2012 merchandise imports were $22,876m, an increase of $588m (3%) on the October 2012 merchandise imports of $22,288m.


PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
  • Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $315m (1%) between October and November 2012.
  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $518m (2%) from $21,244m in October 2012 to $21,762m in November 2012. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $411m (5%) with fuels and lubricants up $189m (6%). Consumption goods rose $163m (3%) and capital goods rose $124m (2%). Non-monetary gold fell $179m (33%).


REVISIONS
  • Revisions have been made to the previous six months to incorporate the latest administrative data relating to international merchandise trade.
  • The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
