  • Stocks of milling grade wheat grain were 5.1 million tonnes at the end of August 2011, a decrease of 996 thousand tonnes from the previous month.
  • Stocks of feed grade wheat grain were at 4.7 million tonnes at the end of August 2011, a decrease of 657 thousand tonnes, or 12% from the end of July 2011.
  • The ratio of milling to feed grade wheat grain in storage for August 2011 was approximately 52%, which was substantially less than the same time in 2010 when there was 89% of milling quality. This reduction in the quality of grain was a result of the poor season and difficult harvest conditions.
