Almost every Australian household (98%) participated in some form of recycling or reuse of household items.
Transport use

In March 2012, 78% of Australians aged 18 years and over travelled to work or full-time study in a private motor vehicle, while 16% used public transport.
Motor vehicle use
Includes: Number of registered motor vehicles kept at home, Type of fuel used in household's main motor vehicle
Diesel fuel usage has increased from 9% in 2009 to 13% in 2012.
