OFFENCE TYPES

Of the 49,015 offences across all court levels, 89% were classified to four ASOC divisions; offences against justice procedures (43%); fraud and deception (35%); msicellaneous offences (6%); and abduction and harassment (6%).

The largest number of offences finalised in the Higher Courts related to fraud and deception (42%) followed by miscellaneous offences (14%) and sexual assault and related offences (12%).

For the Magistrates' Courts, offences against justice procedures (45%) and fraud and deception (35%) were the most prevalent. Offences were spread over a larger number of ASOC divisions in the Children's Courts, with abduction and harassment offences the largest contributor (33%).
